A generalist with frontend depth
My background, the work I take on, and how I approach a new problem.
I'm Ahmed Hamza, a generalist software engineer with frontend depth, based in Kolkata, India.
I started with Angular and React: forms, dashboards, reusable components, and interfaces with complex state. My work has since expanded into Node.js, APIs, PostgreSQL/Supabase, browser extensions, automation, and Web3 applications.
My experience includes modernizing an AngularJS dashboard at TeamWave, building a custom e-signature editor, and automating a migration of more than 1,500 articles at ClearTax. These projects involved understanding an existing workflow, working through its constraints, and making it easier to use or maintain.
I now work across freelance projects, technical consulting, and independent development. Recent examples include Colonist Assistant as freelance work, Satori for code search, and PromptReady for webpage capture. Other projects are experiments, including ZenGate as a proof of concept and X Growth for testing and educational use.
Working across the stack
My backend work includes Node.js services and automation, a Python/FastAPI research application, and an OAuth-protected bridge for local tools. In Satori, I work on retrieval and index consistency; in WebHarness, on authentication and access controls; and in QAP, on reproducible calculations and stored research results.
I also use PostgreSQL/Supabase in independent projects to work through relational modeling, API design, and permissions. Across the stack, I care about where validation happens, who can change data, and how a workflow recovers when something fails.
I start by understanding who needs the software, what is getting in their way, and what a useful result would look like. From there, I work through the interface, data, and implementation together. I prefer a small solution that is easy to understand, verify, and improve.
I use agentic coding to research unfamiliar code, compare approaches, and implement changes. I set the scope, make design decisions, review the code, and check the result. I remain responsible for what ships.
Open to opportunities
I'm open to full-time engineering roles, contracts, and project work. My strongest fit is frontend or full-stack product engineering, including backend services, API integrations, data workflows, and automation. I’m comfortable working through unfamiliar domains and improving existing applications.
